U.S envoy meets PM Sogavare

PRIME Minister Hon. Manasseh Sogavare (MP) has received a courtesy call from the U.S. Ambassador to Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands and Vanuatu, Catherine Ebert-Gray at the Office of the Prime Minister and Cabinet on Wednesday 13 June 2019.

The visit was part of the United States role to strengthen ties with the Solomon Islands and its other allies.

As part of the visit, the Ambassador also highlighted the US’s Indo-Pacific Policy.

The Prime Minister took the opportunity to talk about some of the priorities of the Government whilst both leaders also held discussions on the benefits that the Solomon Islands will receive from some of the programs under the Indo-Pacific Policy.

The Prime Minister also welcomes the ongoing engagement between the US Government and Solomon Islands Government.

The DCGA is committed to the delivery of ongoing and prospective policy priorities in the interests of peace, national stability and economic advancement.

Ambassador Ebert-Gray was accompanied by Jennifer Spande of the U.S Department of State, Bureau of East Asian and Pacific Affairs.
