PM: Achieving a better Solomon Islands is on all citizens shoulders

masi1THE Prime Minister Hon Manasseh Sogavare says that achieving the collective dream of all Solomon Islanders for a better Solomons’ lie on the shoulders of all Solomon Islanders.

PM Sogavare said the statement while joining numerous media personnel’s in a function hosted at the Honiara Hotel on Thursday night to honour World Press Freedom Day.

“Achieving the collective dream of all Solomon Islanders for a better Solomon Islands will not come easy and cannot be achieved through the sole government effort.

“The fulfilment of this collective dream lies on the shoulders of all Solomon Islanders,” he said.

PM Sogavare said that Solomon Islanders inclusive of media practitioners must perform to their utmost best in their various walks of life as part of their contribution to the development of the country.

The Prime Minister Hon Sogavare convince that as the head of a political government, he is determined to ensure DCCG responds appropriately to the  concerns, needs and aspirations of Solomon Islanders through the introduction of appropriate policies and legislations.

“As the head of a political government, I can assure you tonight that I am determined to ensure the political government which I lead- Democratic Coalition for Change Government responds appropriately to the concerns, needs and aspirations of Solomon Islanders through the introduction of appropriate policies and legislations,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Prime Minister also used the occasion to pay tribute and honour to the significant role of the media practitioners in ensuring that a vibrant democratic continues to be enjoyed in Solomon Islands through the fundamental principles of press freedom.
