WITH only two days before the actual Christmas Day, it’s definitely the festive season’s star attraction lighting up Honiara Street.
Placed right in the heart of Point Cruz in Honiara, the 15 meter (50 feet 7 meter) high Our Telekom Christmas tree has over the past week attracted hundreds of visitors in the evenings.
Many come just to take photos with the tree and also enjoy the feel of Christmas with families, friends and the general public.
Its twinkling lights are also one of the most standout attractions that have charmed many, with the Our Telekom office at Point Cruz packed with people almost every evening over the past days.
“This is the third year running that Our Telekom has put up this huge tree for the public,” a Telekom employee said.
“This is the second time that people have crowded up just to take photos and get the feel of having an enormous tree in their midst,” he added.
Along with this attraction, foods and drinks are also being sold each night under the Christmas tree with Our Telekom office at Point Cruz opens up for customers who want to purchase or change SIM cards.
Also at homes, festive stars decorations are hanged on the walls and doors front glimmering, as families prepared to welcome Christmas Day on the 25th.
Meanwhile, Christmas day is an annual festival commemorating the birth of Jesus Christ, observed most commonly on December 25 as a religious and cultural celebration among billions of people around the world.
