CHAIRMAN of Government Caucus, Hon Jackson Fiulaua was today (yesterday) presented with the Fiu Hydro Land and Resource Owners Taskforce Strategic Work Plan for 2015-2017.
Hon Fiulaua who is also the MP for Central Kwara’ae, where the hydro project will be implemented, met with the Taskforce Chairman, Alfred Gegeo and three other members of the Taskforce.
He received and welcomed the Taskforce members at the Caucus Office at the Office of the Prime Minister and Cabinet where he was presented with the work plan report.
The Caucus thanked the members of the taskforce for the report and commended the team for their effort in bringing together the landowners for the worthy cause of developing the constituency by opening up their resources for development.
The Central Kwara’ae MP said he welcomed the report from the Taskforce and will strive to ensure that the Fiu Hydro Project will be realised and operational during his term as Member of Parliament for the region.
Earlier on the day, the Taskforce has met with the Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare where the Chairman, Mr Gegeo briefed the Prime Minister about the Taskforce’s groundwork so far.
Mr Gegeo commended Prime Minister Sogavare for the DCC Government’s commitment to prioritize the project as one of the major development projects on Malaita.
He said the project will not only empower people in the Central Region of Malaita but is critical for the overall development Malaita Province and the rest of Solomon Islands.
